WHAT IS ROTARY AND THE TEACHER AWARDS?
The Rotary Club of Unley is just one of many clubs who belong to the Global Organization of Rotary International.
Founded as a networking organization, Rotary emphasizes the importance of bringing together a diverse range of people for the purpose of exchanging ideas, developing relationships, and improving communities.
Through Projects, Activities and Fundraising events, Club members volunteer their time and skills to support and improve the lives of those within local and international communities under the Rotary banner of “Service Above Self”.
Such Service is in many different areas of which prime examples are Youth, Community and Vocation.
Important programs of Rotary and the Unley Rotary Club include:
- SA Police Officer of the Year with SAPOL (Vocation)
- Best Business and Best Employees on Unley Road with the Unley Road Business Group (Vocation)
- Youth Music Awards (Youth)
- Science, Leadership Forums – Rotary programs (Youth)
- Unley “Fish Tank” for young entrepreneurs with the Unley Council (Youth)
Our TEACHERS AWARD program falls under the banner of VOCATION and aims to recognize dedicated and distinguished service to the community through the education of our children.
