Trevor McGuirk is to be President of the club for 2018-2019.
He announced the following nominations to the Board for that year:

The President elect is yet to be nominated.

Financial Report
Treasurer: Pam Trimmer
An audited profit & loss statement was distributed for last financial year:
- Donations and fundraising income were up
- Thrift shop net income was down primarily due to the costs of the improved shop fit-out, and repair after the break-in.
- The loss on the membership account was some $5,000.
In relation to membership costs, President Heather reported there had been expenses incurred to set up the new website through Forsyte Consulting, commitment to Club Runner (+ ongoing fees), and increases in District and Rotary International fees. The costs of meals for visitors and guests, plus the presentation gifts, had also increased. Membership fees have however not been increased for some years. This will be a matter for Board consideration. The Board will also look at club social functions and whether monies should be put into membership rather than projects.

Amount in the bank, excluding trust funds, is $127,997.
Vocational & Youth: Leonie Kewen(deputy)
- Sponsored 2 RYLA attendees, and 2 National Youth Science Forum students. For both sponsorships the local rotary clubs were unable to fund the candidates. When the program directors approached our club we were pleased to be able to do so.
- Funded Kids Safe Program for young mothers at Louise Place.
Total expenses about $6000
Next year the SA Police Officer of the Year award will be held at the Royal Adelaide Show on 7th September. The award will be for the financial year ending 30th June 2018. There will be no formal dinner. Full details of the event are being worked on.
Community Service: Wendy Andrews;
- 5 applications for community grants received with 4 granted: Highgate Community Shed, rhythmic gymnastic group, pastoral care worker Goodwood Primary, and training of volunteers at Kindergym Goodwood Community Centre. Total cost $3425.
- Disablity and Recreation Sport $1012.50 for wheelchair soccer.
- Circle of Friends working with refugees recycles computers (free labour) and we assist paying for parts. Reno was given one of these to be able to work from home.
- !0 Christmas hampers for the Carers Association $450.
- Salvo’s Christmas lunch $400.
- Branwell House given a desktop computer $55.00.

International: Trevor McGuirk (deputy)
- Peru going very well, as reported in last week's newsletter & Days for Girls have produced 320 kits to date.
- The India village project started several years ago has had clearing and development of land completed. Awaiting further information from Indian rotary counterparts to progress it further.
- Mitre 10 BBQs turnover between $300 - $400 each time.
- Car trial proceeds given to Rotarians Against Malaria.
- Possible project of “ growth shoes “ that can be adjusted both in width & length being provided to children in third world countries.
- Future projects include assembly of prosthetic hands (possibly with the RC Brownhill Creek) and Shelter Box purchases approximately $4000.
- Donations to other projects $12,000.
Membership: Jerry Casburn.
- As of next week 43 members with 1 prospective and 11 new members since 2016.
- Possibly February next year another promotion for Rotary will be held at the Unley Shopping Centre.
- Lakeside chat held with new members at Heather's place. Information and ideas to be presented to the Board.
- A public information evening is intended in March possibly with RC Hyde Park
- Pride of Workmanship was successful and still attending Unley trader's meetings once a month.
- A global grant is being worked on for Purple House permanent dialysis unit in one of the aboriginal communities.
- Club plans to donate $5,000 to the Rotary Foundation this year.
Spots
Jerry Casburn:
- circulated a list asking for numbers for Calperum for February 23rd - 24th. The purpose of the visit will be to monitor tree health as part of the club’s commitment to Calperum.
- stated the Group 6 breakfast hosted by RC Eastwood on Wednesday morning 20th December will be at Adelaide Royal Coach Motor Inn Kent town. Numbers need to be finalised by this Wednesday. The club will pay for members attending.
Dennis Little circulated a list for people to nominate a time they could assist with Carols at the Rotunda on 17th December. Set up time 12 noon. Posters were available for people to take for public distribution.
Wendy Andrews circulated a list for people to volunteer time at the Salvos Christmas tree at the Unley Shopping Centre and also assist with packing hampers and gift packs.
Trevor McGuirk again urged members to attend the Latina festival on this Saturday at Norwood Town Hall
Bob Mullins announced the answer to the last quiz was “foot”......but did anyone get it right?
Ever lucky Geoff Hill won the appalling squares, and everybody was pleased to have survived the AGM.
